The Pope is coming. We live near Washington, DC and it is interesting to see all of the excitement. I was raised a Catholic. Even though I am not a Catholic anymore I still would have enjoyed getting a ticket to see him speak. It seems like a real notable and memorable event. Considering he is the head of the largest Christian organization in the world, it is not surprising to see the reception, especially since our President was raised Catholic. It never occured to me how much influence and power he actually has around the world. I never anticipated the protests regarding the abuse of children by priests. But I guess it is the best time to get your voice heard by the Pope. My prayers are with the Pope that he will utilize his influence wisely and also do what needs to be done to correct the wrongs within the organization.
